World’s leading research firm, Ipsos has unveiled the list of most influential brands of India. According to the research, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev magic has been spreading everywhere, this time his brand ‘Patanjali’ has featured in the fourth spot as a most influential brand of India. While, among the top ten brands, Six belongs to IT industry. As compared to last year, Amazon has gained its position and it has beaten Flipkart.

Ipsos is one of the largest global market research and consulting firm. Its headquarter is in Paris, France. As far as concern of most influential brand research, Ipsos evaluates the essential factors regarding the brands like why it is leading, impacts on consumer mind, target market, and so on. To figure out the most influential brands in India, they had asked for 1000+ Indian online to assess more than 100 brands.

WHAT IS INFLUENTIAL BRANDS

Public Affairs and Loyalty Executive Director of Ipsos, Mr. Parijat Chakraborthy said ” “The Most Influential Brands are larger than life. They enhance our lives to make it better. We connect with them emotionally and cannot imagine our lives without them – they are influential.”

Influential brands are those which have an impact on the consumer’s lives. Consumers could not find a substitute of the influential brands. Trustworthiness, engagement, corporate citizenship, leading edge, and presence are the key driving factors for brands to build the influence among the consumers. It is not an easy task for a marketer to create and maintain the influential brand.

Like everywhere, World’s largest search engine and internet company, Google has been spotted on top. Microsoft and Facebook follow the google and grab the 2nd and 3rd slot respectively. Top three most influential brands in India are from the United States. 

Patanjali has made an impressive entry in the list this year. It has been ranked at 4th. So, technically, Patanjali is the most influential home grown the brand of India. The disruptive pricing strategy makes the space for Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio in the list and begged the 9th position. Both the brands did not figure in a previous year.

The only banking or financial institution, State Bank of India (SBI) has been ranked in the list. It has gained 4 positions as compared to previous year and grabbed 5th rank as a most influential brand of India.

The presence of the Amazon has been gradually rising in India, its impact seems on the list as well. India’s leading E-commerce companies, Flipkart and Amazon, both spotted among the top ten influential brands. Amazon climbed two spots and placed at 6th. At the same Flipkart has lost three spots and ranked 10th in the list. 

Only smartphone brand, Samsung grabbed 7th place while India’s largest telecom giant, Airtel featured at 8th. This year, Whatsapp and Gmail have not secured its position in the list.

Ipsos consider the only most well-known, biggest and highest spending brands in the evaluation. According to study, daily engagement with the consumer plays a vital role in building the influential brands. The brands assessed by the consumers on the basis of quality, experience, and value. Marketing spends and works towards the brand equity also consider as a factor to evaluate the influential brands.
